Donna Yahr is a Southern California native and fine artist. Art, animals and nature have alway been an important part of her life—she spent hours exploring and sketching the natural world as a child.

Donna graduated from the University of California Polytechnic, San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor degree in Art and Photography.  Over the past thirty years, Donna has produced artwork ranging from lifestyle and architectural photography to paintings and illustrations.

Today, she focuses primarily on oil painting and drawing — utilizing the natural environment as her inspiration and drawing upon her aesthetic sensibilities to observe the ever-changing effects of light, color and shadow. Donna uses the medium of photography to capture inspiring images as reference and paints plein air studies for color analysis. Her pieces feature moments from her travels and landscapes from her home in California: oceans, beaches, estuaries, deserts, forests, and mountains. Donna also has a strong affinity for capturing the unique personalities of the animals she draws and paints.

Donna’s work creates an impression of her experience and attempts to capture the beauty of the natural world. She feels lucky to share this planet with many diverse and beautiful creatures—and hopes that her artwork will uplift, inspire and remind the viewer of the importance of preserving it.

All profits from the sale of her artwork goes toward charities that help protect animals and their environment.
